Hi, my name is Igor and I'm from Belgrade, Serbia. Recently I bought Canyon 600 in very good condition except problem with starter motor. Previous owner had problem with starter clutch (famous 4 screws on freewheel), and not solving this problem in time, hi finally burned out starter motor itself.
Now, I find another starter clutch and brand new freewheel, and it is fine now. Also, I bought used starter motor from River 600, but it simply can't crank my Canyon. When it's not under load it spins good, and in two services specialized for starter motors they said it's good. Now the funny part - when I put it on 24V it cranks engine like it should, and engine starts in second no matter cold or hot. The engine itself is running very well, no strange sounds, no ticking and clicking etc.
So, my question is - is there any final solution for starter motor? The new OEM part is very expensive. Did any of you try starter motor from some other motorcycle? Please help with any information.
